When do I depend on Hashem, and when is it up to me? (Part 2)

Continuing from last time, this lecture begins by examining the differing opinions among Rishonim regarding the obligation of Hishtadlus, with a focus on the perspectives of the Ramban and the Chovos HaLevavos. Participants gain a deeper understanding of how Bitachon and Hishtadlus intersect in various contexts, including personal health, livelihood, and interpersonal dynamics.

We explore the concept of Hishtadlus as both a Heter (allowance) and a Chiyov (obligation), considering the level of trust and reliance on Hashem based on individual circumstances and spiritual maturity. Through captivating narratives and practical insights, participants learn how to strike a balance between trust in Hashem's providence and proactive effort in their relationships.

Specific attention is given to the Chovos HaLevavos' categorization of interpersonal interactions into two distinct areas: interactions with strangers and interconnected relationships within one's social environment. Participants gain valuable insights into navigating loneliness and solitude as well as fostering meaningful connections within their communities.
